Charles, one of our eagle-eyed readers, came across this page on the Hennessey website (http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/ListItems.php?cart=wIuyfuUp&DoThis=Ford+Taurus+SHO+%282010%29&ActionReq=Where) announcing plans to offer upgrades for the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/2010FordTaurusSHO/). A quick email and a subsequent phone call from Mr. Hennessey himself confirmed that the power-obsessed tuner is hoping to exploit the new SHO's potential later this year.

John, a former first-gen SHO owner himself, was impressed with the new SHO's specs when it was revealed last week (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/officially-official-2010-ford-taurus-sho/), and the hope is that enthusiasts will start looking for modifications once sales begin later this year. At the onset, expect intake and exhaust mods, followed by a boost controller, turbo and intercooler upgrades and possibly some suspension tweaks.

Since Ford is primarily marketing its line of EcoBoost engines towards fuel-conscious consumers, there's little doubt that the automaker left something on the table. We're sure tuners are ready to take up the challenge, and it looks like John and his team will be at the forefront.

They are going to be nice little rides when they come out I think. The particular Ecoboost that will be in the SHO will support up to 420hp from the factory when Ford decides to turn up the wick and I think the aftermarket will even better with them. The only thing I could foresee as a problems is finding larger fuel injectors for the direct injection system.

I am looking forward to the new SHO! I think it is a great looking car. FMC has quite a few cars I wouldn't mind having in my garage . . . I just need a bigger garage and more money!!

Anyone giving money to John Hennessey is a 100% certified dumbass. I don't get the all these magzine's fasicination with the guy. He screwed over how many Viper owners? Bolt the parts on and have MD tune it, done.

Ford's 2010 lineup looks to be pretty strong!
With this car, the 540 horse GT500, the new Fusion, and the Fusion Hybrid (if that's your thing) is getting rave reviews as it outdoes all the mid size hybrid competition!
Toss in the newly redone F150, with the Fiesta due in 2011, I think Ford is on the right track. They are making efforts to build cars people want.
I see GM and Chrysler are knocking on the White House door again...asking for 22 Billion this time around.

Terry,
Did I leave any out?

i think that hits it on the head, and hopefully the reg gt will be back to the 5.0 for 11 as well

i am not unhappy at all with the ford's i sell, and am not ashamed to put em up against toyotas quality at all

you did forget the flex though, it's a love it or hate it body style, but you have got to drive one, one of the best vehicles ford has ever made

i also believe the explorer is getting a redesign as well

Ford is kicking ass again, finally. If they had rolled all this out a year ago they'd have been sitting pretty now. We'll see how it goes for them, this shit economy is just getting started IMO. It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

You did leave one out BTW, the 6.2L boss is finally going to show up in the trucks.

Bail out GM, screw Chrysler. Let the French bail them out. They are a owned by an investment capital company anyways.
