cherry bombs on my 97???

I was thinking about putting some brand new 40 series flowmasters on the car and after the mufflers on each side i was thinking about putting a cherry bomb glass pack on each side. i heard it sounded mean as hell with it like that but i've never heard it in person. What do you all think about it???

Dont put cherry bombs on your car, Just put an x pipe on with flowmaster 40 series. 2 chamber on it. I think they sound good like that, Or a bassani x pipe

I have never been a fan of glass packs....

They sound good for a while then start sounding like a redneck tank just drove buy...:D


but if you are going to go that route IMO the Dynomax Race Bullet Muffler seems to be the best....

I worked at an exhaust shop many years ago for 8 years....When I originally put the maverick together with the ole roller 306 I tried about 10 mufflers before settling on the spintechs....

How about if i took the mufflers off and replaced it with the cherry bombs? How will that sound? The car has an o/r h pipe already.

I just dont think cherry bombs sound all that great, Have you tried out those bullets there talking about? I heard they sound good.

If you like a really crackly and raspy sound, then go with the cherry bombs. If you have an o/r h then I would recommend doing flowmaster. They sound great with o/r h pipes.

This is with Mac 1 5/8" long tubes, Mac o/r pro-chamber mid pipe, and SLP loud mouth cat back.

I ditched my SLP's for Mac dumps.

With the SLP's, my car sounded like a crotch rocket winding out. With the full Mac system from the headers back, it sounds like a 5.0.

I can't stand tube style mufflers...i had race bullets for about 1/8 mile driving up the street and turning around to come home and take them off. But, i've never really heard a 4.6 that sounded bad, and cherry bombs are cheap. Give it a shot we'll all know for sure.

This is from way back but it might help you with what they sound like dumped. This car has long tube headers on it with will make it sound alittle different than yours but you get the idea.


P.S. Anything but Cherry Bombs/Glass packs....Please:)

Cherry Bomb has a full line of welded mufflers now and all of them sound pretty good. The traditional glass pack style, yes, they sound horrible but the new ones sound nice. I had a Cherry Bomb Elite SUV muffler on my Tahoe and it sounded great.

The black GT is what you'll here in this vid when it gets bouncing off the 5700 rpm rev two step and WOT after launch. The set up in this vid is Mac long tubes, mac o/r prochamber & SLP loud mouth 1's.

It drew a bit too much attention to a car that ran high 12's.
