tapping

i just put a used shortblock back together.and its has a random tap.not a knock but tap and i used all the old pushrods and lifters.i think there coming loose.it has good power just a tap at around 3000 rpm.any info would be great

I had a motor that would do that but not all the time. It was a rod bearing starting to go out.

I had a couger with a 302 in it that did that from the day I bought it to the day I sold it.It ended up bein the torque converter bolt.Or one of the 4.

i think its just a bad motor its smoking bad and tapping im just going to try to fing a motor with heads already on it
