Ok, so I called her at work and told he not to ask any questions, but she needed to be off after 3 on Saturday and all day Sunday. She said a slow ooooookkkkkk, and then I said bye! She wondered what was up for 2 weeks. I didn't tell her a thing. I took her downtown cincy to the Netherland Plaza Hilton. When we pulled up she said that this was a special place since we had been there last year for sweetest day. We got our room and changed for dinner. I took her down stairs to Orchids for dinner. The entire staff was in on what was going to happen that evening, so they gave us a great table in the corner. We had a wonderful dinner, but I excused myself after we ordered to go to the bathroom. I told her I didn't know where the restroom was, so I pretended to ask the mater d where it was, he pretended to walk me around the corner and I handed him the box. After dinner, he brought out a silver tray with a silver domed lid on it and said" the gentleman has ordered a very special desert for the lady this evening", set the tray in front of her and lifted the lid. The box was in the center of the tray and they had surrounded it with real orchids. She looked at it and at me, and I took her hand and told her that I loved her with all my heart and would she marry me(had a whole speech prepared, but got all choked up, not enough alcohol/courage in my system ;) ) and she said "yes". I slid the ring on and people around us applauded and the staff brought out champagne for us to celebrate. Then the chef sent out two deserts with 'congratulations' written in chocolate on the plates.
All in all it was a special, memorable evening. Exactly what I intended.
