running rough,stalled,no start, dead battery

I finally got my mustang out today. I knew the battery has been going south for some time now cause it sits most of the time in the garage. Well I started it up backed it out and let it idle and warm up for about 20-25 minutes. I took it for a short cruise and noticed right away it was not running right. So I quickly turned around and pulled back into the driveway. When it ideled down it was missing and running very rough, and it would not take any throttle. I stalled but it restarted. Still running rough I limped it back into the garage where it died and won't restart. I hooked my scanner up to it and it showed no codes. Just after 20-30 seconds of cranking the battery is completely dead. I know I need a new battery, but is there another problem waiting on me after I replace the battery? Its a 2004 GT manual with 12,500 miles.:(

How old is the gas in it?

The gas could be an issue, but also from the car sitting for so long the plugs could go bad and you probably could give her a good tune up.

The gas is probibly no more than 2 months old

Agreed with above. If the alternator is not working and the battery is dying then the car would run like that because of not enough current to run your COP's.

P.S. Was the battery light on?

Not sure at all that this could be your problem without looking at your car:

My sister got a 2000 Mustang back in like 03 or 04 with only 9K on it. After a few months, it developed intermittent issues with the way it would run. It turned out that the previous owners let it sit so much that the tank rusted inside and would plug up the sock on the pump sometimes. Sometimes it would run fine, and then almost stall on the highway. I had to put a used tank and a new fuel pump assembly in it to fix it. Just something to check I suppose.

Put a battery in it, it may be all that's wrong with it. Bad batteries can wreak havok on a computerized car.

I put in a new battery and no luck. still no start. I checked for power at the fuel pump connector and have power back there, I pushed in the schrader valve in the fuel line and no fuel came out even with the key on and pushing it in at the same time. So Im almost certain either a fuel pump or filter.

Have you checked the fuel cutoff switch? I know there is probably no reason for it to be tripped but you never know.

I would do what John said then if the inertia switch is not tripped maybe if you have the tool take the fuel line from the pump/tank to the fuel filter off and turn the key to the run position and see if any fuel shoots out.

Inertia switch is good. Now I have found a fault code, P1237. Secondary fuel system circuit fault. I have heard either a fuel pump or a ccrm constant control relay module.
Does anybody know where that is located?

I used google and it's in the passenger side fender well. Remove your tire and splash guard to access.

I tested another 04 gt at the fuel pump connector and got the exact same readings as mine with the key on and key off. I have a bad fuel pump or whole pump assembly.
