We had put a stage one trick flow cam in my moms 94, 6.7 pushrods, twisted wedge heads, 1.6 roller rockers.

With #1 at top dead center, we can tighten down the #1 rocker a half turn after zero lash, then turn the motor a quarter turn and tighten #3 a half turn after zero lash, we then turn the motor another quarter turn and go to tighten #7 and it opens the valve.

Could we have the cam 180?

The two dots on the timing gears are soposed to point towards each other?:bangwall:

Timing dots face each other, yes. The lifter is probably pumped up. I always crank engine over and watch exhaust open and close, intake open and close, then go 1/4 to half turn past and adjust that cylinder. I see what you are trying to do, but this way assures the lifter is on the back of the lobe.

when i adjust mine, i wait till the exhaust valve is all the way open then adjust the intake. screw in the rocker nut with your finger until you can't spin the push rod with your fingers then tighten the nut a quarter turn and tighten the little alan head screw inside the nut and vice versa for the exhaust.

if you tighten the rocker till you cant spin the push rod its way to tight . zero lash is when the pushrod first touchs the rocker . i move the push rod up and down till it just stops moving and then go a half turn .

i copied this of comps web site Turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation. Start with cylinder number one (1). When the
exhaust valve begins to move, adjust the intake valve to the correct preload. To reach zero, take the
pushrod between your finger tips and move it up and down while you tighten the rocker arm. Once
you feel the pushrod has no more vertical slack, you are at zero preload. Make sure the pushrod is
in the lifter and the rocker arm seat when making valve adjustments. As stated before the best
setting is .030” to .040”, or ½ to ¾ a turn of the wrench past zero. Now, you can move on to the
exhaust valve on the same cylinder. Begin by rotating the engine over again until the intake valve
reaches maximum lift and is almost all the way back down. Then set the exhaust valve using the
same method as the intake (.030” to .040”, or ½ to ¾ a turn of the wrench past zero). Continue
adjusting the valves on each cylinder in this manner until all valves are adjusted.

wouldn't that be the same way i said since you are tightening it a 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn and i am only doing it a 1/4 turn?

No if you tighten it all the way till the push rod stops it would prob be like 1,5 turns . There is a big diffrance in zero and the push rod stopping also you would prob get a few that had more on them since not all of the lifters blead off the same . One might hold presure and one might just colapce . i adjusted mine that way before some one showed me and it sounded like i had a huge cam in it with all the misses :lol:
