so i picked up a trick flow stage 1 cam , i have never ran a trick flow so i need to know if my stock distributer gear will be ok with it...

Yup...stock gear is fine. I always recommend a soft (stock) type gear in case your oil pump ever locks up so your distributor gear doesn't chew up the camshaft. Dist. Gears are cheap, cams are not.
