"With the upcoming 45th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang taking place in April of 2009, Mustangs Across America has organized a cruise across our great country starting in Las Vegas and ending in Birmingham, AL to commemorate the event. The end of the cruise will mark the beginning of the 3-day 45th Anniversary event put on by the Mustang Club of America at Barber Motorsports Park on April 16-19th. The 45th Anniversary event will be the biggest gathering of Mustangs on the planet with as many as 6000 Mustangs from all over the country and world attending the car show and open track events.

The Mustangs Across America cruise will start with a kick-off and welcome reception in Las Vegas Friday April 10, 2009 with the actual cruise starting the next day. After leaving Las Vegas the Mustang convoy will head to the historic Route 66 outpost of Hollbrook, AZ. From Holbrook the drive will go through Albuquerque, NM with a stop in historic Sante Fe before getting to Santa Rosa, NM for much needed rest and relaxation. The next day the convoy will be headed through Amarillo, Texas and then on to a stop at the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK. After the Route 66 Museum the pack of Mustangs will head for Mustang,OK for the overnight stop. Following the stop in Mustang, OK the convoy heads down through my neck of the woods Dallas for a lunch stop. After lunch the stampede of Mustangs will make the 3 hour drive east to Shreveport/Bossier City, LA for the next overnight stop. After a night of partying and gambling at the River Boat casinos in Shreveport the pack of Mustangs head for their final stop of Birmingham, AL kicking off the 45th Anniversary event at Barber Motorsports Park."

It's funny I saw this because I just watched the show about this last night from the 40th anniversary, I'd love to do it! Maybe the Stang would be all done by then....

We watched that too. We were thinking about driving to Barber Motorsports park but are not positive yet... I think it would be awesome to do too though, one of these years :)

I subscribed to the forum for the cruise (to find out info about registering, lodging, etc.) and all the people that were actually on the show were members, and were super friendly.

Maybe the 50th anniversary will be better timing and we will be able to afford to go and stay a while, assuming it is within 7 or 8 hours of cincinnati. But by the time we do that, we might as well just drive to Vegas or Cali, or wherever it starts that year.

It will be the biggest celebration ever because it will be a big-time landmark year for the mustang.

Yeah the only thing I would be able to do is to drive to Nashville. I'd love to see all those Mustangs in one place, from all over the US and abroad! :bigthumb

I would like to do that one day too. I've heard it is crazy there.

Our sbz cruise-ins are cool, but I can't imagine seeing THOUSANDS of nice stangs.

I would probably have a seizure or panic attack lol...

I haven't even been able to hook up with the SBZ cruises yet. Depressing! Because of our Mustang not being fixed yet. But I'm hoping to get it done in the next month or so, so I can go to the next cruise! ;)

Sweet :) I have been to 3 or 4 of them over the past 2 years and this spring will be the first time I can go w/ a stang and now I actually know a few people. It's cool even if you dont have a car there. You should def try to make it to the next one.
