i bought my wife a 96 2v gt a couple of years ago and she now wants a exhaust. I have a 40 series flowmaster cat back that i put on it but am unsure whether i should put a h-pipe or x-pipe on it she wants a loud deep tone and i know that the 2v mod motors sound different compared to the 5 liter exhaust. What do you guys think, let me know

id say put an h-pipe on it for a deep agressive tone, i had a x-pipe (off road) on my 99gt and took it off, it was way louder and had a kackle sound to it didnt sound good to me, but thats just my opinion though, i have an x-pipe on my 5.0 car it sounds great. The 99 had flowmaster original 40s on it.

Mac Prochamber and a set of 40 or 50 flowmasters.

I may have an H pipe available for that orange beast if your interested. I had it on mine with the 40 series back in the day. H will sound deep and the X will get a little raspy but yield a couple extra horse.

Go with an H pipe if you want a deep tone.
