2009 Road Racing/High Performance Driving Events - NASA

Here is the tentative race schedule for 2009 in the OH/IN Region. All of these events include the HPDE (High Performance Driving Events).
Come on out and enjoy the fun!

April 10-12 Mid-Ohio
May 16-17 Putnam Park IN (combined event with the Midwest Region)
June 5-7 Bluegrass Park - KY (That's right!!!)
July 10-12 Mid-Ohio
August 14-16 Mid-Ohio
September 5-6 Gingerman - MI (Probably HPDE only)
October 10-11 Putnam Park IN

I am hoping to. I will not be at the first MO date (racing) but am planning on the MO, Putnam and certainly the Bluegrass dates.

I will extend this to anyone - If you want to try a HPDE or just hang out, find a space near my trailer and I'll help you however I can.

The HPDE's are a blast! Even if you are in your mothers SUV you can gain a lot of knowledge and have a blast. You DO NOT need a track car to try this out, its a learn at your own rate with what ever vehicle you bring. Some folks even rent a car for the weekend.

I'll have to look into it. I'm gonna do the Evo School through SCCA in April and wanted to do their PDX at Bluegrass in May but can't.

Hmmm....I've browsed those links and can't seem to find any specific info on the HPDE at Bluegrass.

Do I need to join NASA to be able to attend? Do you know how much it is to attend the HPDE? I'd probably be the first level since it would be my first time at an actual track.

I think they just have the date secured, nothing has been posted to let you sign up as yet. I'll post up when they have the sign-ups ready! Not sure if you have to be a NASA member, but membership is fairly inexpensive. HPDE 1 would most likely be your jump in...good instructors and learn at your own pace!

In order to run an HPDE with NASA you have to be a member (as far as I remember from last year).

Went up to Mid-Ohio to visit some of my customers....I have a total New look on Road-Racing!!
We watched the racing for a couple hours and when my bud was done racing, he asked..."wanna go for a ride?"

HOLY SHIT!!!! is all I could muster while I was hanging on for dear life!!!:lol: We were taking corners and entering the turns at STUPID SPEEDS!! I was thinking, Im done!! LOL!
So after only 3 laps, IM HOOKED! James assured me that he didnt drive like he did right off the bat. He has been learning and gaining experience for over two years.
I am ready to do it again.:bigthumb

ya, I use to drag race...lol long time ago. the new beast is all most done.

spec miata. no thanks. you can buy a turn k cmc for less then that and upgrade as needed for american iron. I have never met a guy that went from road racing to drag racing. nothing to compare as a fun factor
