86' Seat belt slack?

I was wondering if anyone knows why when I wear my seatbelt, and slack gets pulled out it stays there until I open the door. Then it will suck it back. Its very annoying. Even the wind from having the T's out will cause this slack. So at every stop sign I have to open my door to get the slack out. How can I fix this?

Probly replace the seat belt.My 86 did that up untill the day i took it to the scrap yard.

Yeah, the metal ribbon inside the assembly, used as the spring to bring it back, wears out over time. If you can't stand it, just buy new seatbelts. They are quite pricey though.
