any rewiring to put on a cobra alt on a fox?

i did one years ago but i cant remember what i need to do

On a fox you need a 3G alt from a 94/95. You need to cut the three wires from the factory plug, the two orange/black wires need ring terminals, the 3rd small gauge wire needs a small speaker type slide connector. You then put the 2 blk/orng wires to the post on the new alt., but you MUST also install an (at least) 8 gauge wire from the post on the alt. to the battery, in addition to the two blk/orng factory wires. If you don't add the 8 gauge wire, you will probably catch your car on fire. The fact alt cranks out 75-80 amps, 3g's are rated at 140, but can crank out 165, the factory fox harness was never designed for that many amps.
