how to tell the diff between gt40 , p heads,e7's......

so i was told the diff between gt40's and p's was the stamp on the corners? they will say gtp if there p's and just gt if there gt40's right just need to know :confused:

GT-40P heads can be ID'd by the "GTP" on the head, The GT40 has "GT" cast where the "GTP" is.

Correction. In the corner of the head by the headbolt it will say "GTP" for P-heads, and I havent seen a set of GT40's in person, but I would assume they would simply just be "GT"

Also, on the front and rear end of the head, the GT40P's will have 4 vertical bars cast into the casting, and the regular GT40's will just have 3 bars. That way is the easiest way to tell.

GT40P's also say "GT40P" in the surface casting of the head, which you would see under the valve cover.

also the gt40 has the 3 bar... at end of head you can easily see on the car... as seen at the bottom of the pic

Also, gt-40p's have straight spark plugs instead of angled.
