Well...on the way to Chicago last night (work), I ran into freezing rain at the 143mm on I74 W...and it got worse and worse. The freezing rain didn't stop until I got to the I90 toll road...then it turned to sleet, and snow when I crossed the Skyway. Needless to say, it took me well over 6 hours to get there. When I arrived at the Jefferson St. hub, everyone was staring at my truck... (took pic with cell phone)...check out the ice hanging from the mirrors. Needless to say, I ran out of drive time D.O.T. hours on the way back and had to sit and wait to be picked up...ended up being out 16.5 hours, and spent all night dodging IDIOTS that were wiping out on I65 trying to drive 70mph on a sheet of ice.

I left lafayette yesterday around 3:00pm when I heard the severe weather advisory. I was going to get a hotel for the night but decided to just hit the road and get south of the cold air. The roads weren't comletely horrible in yesterday morning (less than 3" of ice/snow) it was just the morons who can't drive stimulating the local economy (body shops, insurance CO's, and rental car places). The liquid fiberglass truck overturn was pretty messy on Indy's NW side. 3 HD rotators, and a small fleet of Medium rollbacks with equipment got the job done. I would hate to see his bill for that recovery...
