New fox cowl hoods!

[1986GT]

Anyone who went to the c-bus swap see these from Boss inc. They had one there for 83-86 and 87-93. They were actually prototypes (they are pulling the molds from them as of yesterday). They didn't get them done for the swap completely. Awesome looking hood. The front of the cowl starts in the normal spot and normal width (stock hood lines), but ends 5" wider in the back than typical cowls. The sides curve their way to the back instead of being straight. Very different. The 2 they had were 3" tall so I don't know if they will make other hights or not. I liked them enough to order one for the 86'. I am supposed to have it by Christmas. You can fit a 351 underneath with plumbing and not have to cut a square out of the side of the cowl. Also if you want to put the factory hood decal on your 83-86, the whole thing fits on top of the cowl and doesn't have to be trimmed or hang over the sides. I am having the factory stripe painted on mine right away. Ordered the template today. I wish I had a pic to show of them but their site doesn't even have one yet.

Three were built, one met a tree though! Herb built one for his sn95 too. That is it. We have been talking about trying something else of the wall this winter. But seriously, I will buy your Dads if he ever gets the urge. I would like to have the only 2 in existence!

I called him and told him the story. He thought it was pretty cool but he would rather have another hood. He asked what you would give for it. It is perfect shape, maroon in color and has hood pins added which I noticed your does not.

PM me what he has in mind. We can work something out. We did some refinements on my hood for fit and finish. Used carbon fiber and kevlar in latch and stress areas. We built it a quarter inch to wide and built the body lines to match the gap between the cowl and fenders. Tedious detail shit nobody would notice but me! Let me know though. Thanks, Lee

agreed. I bought a h.o. fibertrends hood up there this time last year for my 95 and could not be any happier, best fitting hood and easiest to prepand paint that ive ever bought. Looks like it rolled out of the factory with it.

I looked these over very well they are great quality. I can see there being equal quality out there from other brands but I don't know about better. Any decent body shop can prep one of their hoods in less than an hour. H.O fibertrends makes a great quality hood too. I have seen them.

Supposed to sell for $350.00 and $79.00 shipping. Show special was $300.00 and shipping was free because they didn't have them done for the show. I didn't want to pass up the savings so I ordered on the spot.

Yep! I beleive so. They had them at the show also. Thats the hood my dad wants.

Me too. Its the best dual scooped hood I have seen. The bulge in the middle makes it. I don't care to much for others. They usually look like this.

I saw the new hood for the 83-86 at the swap meet. It looked good, I just think they're late into the game. ( better late then never though ) They could have sold a few hundred of those things if they started making them 10-12 years ago. I myself bought a HO fibertrends a few weeks before the meet.
