What Sandblaster?

I need to buy a sandblaster, I want a portable one, one that will just take grease dirt like rust off of parts, please help guide me.

I got one from Capristang... not sure what it is, but I will try to get a pic of it and post it. It is portable... not the most powerful thing... but it does the job. Bead blasting gives much better results and is a helluva lot easier to clean up.

The best thing for grease is aerosol aircraft stripper. You can buy it at autozone. Tractor Supply(TSC) has a clarke model for 120 bucks that does the job decent enough. But, you need to put better clamps on the hose or it will blow off the bottom of the tank.

Summit has some smaller cost effective units that you can purchase for less than $50. On the other end of the spectrum you can buy a blaster for $25,000. Either way you need a robust air compressor to support most any type of media blasting. The retailer of your blaster can provide CFM requirements. If you don't have a blast cabinet prepare to make a MESS.

I work for a Dry Ice blasting Company So I am somewhat biased to CO2 as a media, however on rust removal the abrasion just isn't there. For grease and dirt though it's excellent. I have never tried it in a Sand blaster before and wonder how well it would work. If you want to try some thru your blaster just shoot me message and I can get you some pellets to try. It's great for cleaning under the hood and leaves no secondary waste (grit, soda, sand) and since it sublimates (changes from a solid to a gas)on impact its very user friendly.

This is what I bought for my garage. I got out of Summit's clearance section for $75. It's the same one that TSC carries. It was worth the seventy-five bucks.

o and can you give me an example of an item that will fit in there so I can kinda get a hint as to what would fit, and what kind of compressor do you have?

You can also get one like that at Harbor Freight. Buddy of mine bought one identical to that one from there and it works great.
