Solid motor mounts

I'm looking into solid motor mounts and was wondering if its worth it. What exactly does this do and what does it improve on?

If yours are that bad just go with a poly mount. It will help keep the motor from rockin around. Solids are more for bigger power motors where the excess torque is transferred to the body instead of letting it freely move around throwing the car off balance.

What good is transfering the torque to the body? Will it cause better traction?

Like Bob said, at your power level, good poly mounts are all you need.

Yeah my stockers aren't bad just trying to find ways to improve traction and 60ft times and someone told me getting better motor mounts is cheap and does help a little.

unless they are ripped I would just stick with a poly mount. Plus your being a DD will give you a head ache with all the vibration that comes out of putting in solid mounts.

How difficult is it to switch them out?

it takes some time. Got to jack the motor up to get the mounts to clear. unless your are torn or ripped or rocking too much I wouldn't worry about replacing them.

Solid mounts are not a good idea with a stock block. I found this out the hard way. :(

I have solid mounts on my car. It adds another ground spot for the engine.
