I have a 2000 Z28 and the car alarm is annoying as hell when it comes to opening a door. If I open the passenger door without the key in the ignition, the car alarm goes off. If I open the driver side door and do not put the key in the ignition within ~10-seconds, the car alarm goes off. As far as I know it's the factory alarm. How do I go about changing the alarm settings or even turning the damn thing off?

I had a firebird that did wierd shit with the alarm too. From what i understand GMs have a lot of electrical bugs. I just took my alarm out after awhile.

The key fob is what you need to set your alarm settings. You need to check your owners manual on how to set it up.....
If you don't have a manual, check out NKYFBA as I'm sure someone over there can help you out.

Not true.
