DTC P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance
its a 03 wrangler 2.4L
I looked and didn't see anything that even looked like EGR system related lol

DealerConnect confirms that you are reading the code wrong. ;) I would suspect a p0440 code for an evap leak. Chrysler can't make a rubber hose last more then 10 minutes.....

have you had anything replaced electrically before this started happening?? otherwise it sounds like you will need to take it to the dealership and get your pcm flashed to fix it

i saw a Service Bulletin for this code. It described everything about the P0404 EGR Position Performance but it was for a different vehicle and it instructed to flash the pcm to get rid of it.I would still say flash it. The jeep guys i asked haven't experienced anything like this before so sorry no help there.
Don't know anything about the low rpm without more info
