I cut up a stock h-pipe and took the C.C.'s to the metal shredder. I had been told you could get $70-80 bucks for them. Not true, $6 each. The kicker is, Ohio just passed a new law, if your not a business, you can only sell one per day.

The upside is, this should eliminate most thieves from stealing them. Unless they can live on $6 a day.lol

$6 for a cat??????

Someone was trying to rip you off :)

I know the prices have dropped in the past 2 months, but I still get $60 a cat from a Honda. The 4 cats on a stang are worth ALOT less each. maybe $75 for all four now.

The metal market dropped just like oil did.

Cats are different. It depends on how much palladium is in there. That stuff is worth more than platinum.

I contacted a guy from Craigslist a few months ago. He came to my house and picked mine up for $80. I have two more now but will just keep them for $7....

It depends on where you take them and what mood they're in when you show up. My buddy took a Honda cat in and got like $80 for it...i took my Merkur cat in, which was 3x as big, and because it wasn't listed in the guy's stupid book, he only gave me $30 for it. Also if they're the kind that you can't look inside of and see if they're blown out or not, they won't give you much.

Convertors took a big hit in price over the last few months . The import convertors are worth more as they have more of the precious metals in them and aftermarket replacements being the lowest .I sold some two weeks back and got $100.00 for a large foreign and $85.00 for a small foreign . I had got $240.00 out of the large foreign 3 months back .I do think the $6.00 was low on the Stang convertors though .

I cashed in on the two off dad's 2001 Yukon XL a few weeks ago. They were decent size, not huge, but one of them was completely melted inside. I got $15 for the bad one and $30 for the good one.

I wasn't so concerned with the money, the truck runs a ton better. The money just paid for my labor and food.
