SBR - Could stand for SHort Barrel Rifle.
Its basicall where you pay a $200 tax stamp to uncle sam and file paperwork with the ATF to be able to cut the barrel down shorter than 16" in length. Its not had to fill out the papers but it takes time and well the $200 also.

Pellet Comp. rifle. Im off on the 22nd. I think there is a post about it. I'll check it out. Will deff. be there if you don't mind.

Im new to all this... I just want a nice setup for the $$$. This is what a buddy offered me:

I have either a Double Star match rifle (16 inch crome heavy barrel, flat top w/ scope) $800 OR I have more of a true M-4, once more a Double Star lower, but it has a Bushmaster (top of the line) upper, draw back is it is an M-4A2 (carry handle). $650.

I'd also love to own a Thompson sub just for nostalgia reasons...they're so cool looking with the drum mag.

With a flat top, you have more options. There is a carry handle that can mount on a flat top upper. Bushmaster is top of the line. That is what I have. Double star is a little lesser known brand. The thing about the quality of the lower is Mil Spec. Bushmaster is which means you can take any upper that is machined to military specs, and pin it on and go. No custom fitting needed. I do not know about Double Star lowers.

Double Star lowers, are forged just like most others. They are a good platform to start with. I started out building my first ar with a Stag lower, I built it with a carry handle and a 20" GI barrel. Then it all started from there. Next there was a S&W M-4, then the latest edition was a Rock River M-4, but this one has a Eotech, Arms front rail hand guard. Arms flip up back and front sites. Surefire flash light, detatchable bipod, front foward grip, two stage match triger, 6 position adjustable stock, and the coolist thing i have yet is a night vision scope that will work with the Eotech also. I know i promised pics and i will try to get them later today for you all.
It is a disease that cant be stoped. Keith can vouch for me on this.

He knows AR's pretty good, if you call in the evening see if Tim is working. He's a county cop for Kenton Cty PD and is in charge of all the county PD's ARs. I bought a nice S&W M&Ptacital for about 1400 but it is top of the line. Just becareful, don't shot 5.56 ammo through your gun unless it states somewhere on it that you can. Hope this helps. And by the way, buy soon, was talking to Alex last week and gun suppliers and dealers are running low thanks to our new pres! God help us all!

Imagine EVERYONE within an hour drive time calling the store, constantly. Asking about the status on this or that firearm. Imagine that going on for the past 2+ weeks. He probably didn't mean to get short with you, but it happens.

The guys at One Shot were always cool at the local shoots. They'd bring out all the neat toys. :D

Ohio Rapid Fire is another place to check... They had one or two DPMS last week at reasonable prices and a rack of 5.45 WASRs (AK clones) for $499.

Double Star has all military Specs on all lowers and uppers. They are a sister company from J&T Products that have been shippin parts for 22+ years. Hope that might help ya. Bill

Update on the MS rebate thing. I just got instant cashback in my paypal acct from buying my scope. When I next puchased the rings and bases, they were free casuse I had instant cash in paypal!

Ok Walter, I had a paypal account and registered on ebay. I went to Microsoft live and searched. In the little block of the search info it had a list of cites, one of them being ebay... and said "you may get 25% off with Paypal if elgible"..... so I clicked on that link and it is a listing of all the aimpoint products on ebay.

Now for my question, How can I tell which listed products give me 25% off? Or what they give at all.
