Well i have had this car for 6 years it has seen many changes in that time. I wrote the cover story on the main page of SBZ for v8 swap upon completion of mine. Vinny seen that i had done a clean conversion and asked me to write the article. Well in that 6 years i have done so much to the car that it would be easier to post pics then try to explain.

2 years ago i put a 331 with a tremec and havent been happy with the performance, So it's going back under the hammer i have sold off the top end combo i had on the motor and bought all new stuff. AFR heads Trick Flow R intake, 30 lb injectors, 75 mm tb, egr delete. Canton 7 qt oil pan, few other goodies suck as elec water pump. Complete Aeromotive fuel system. I started the tear down thursday and got everything apart now except for the motor.

Heres some recent pics. I will get up some pics of the past progress. My thread was lost with a few others so i will try to dig up the old pics.

CHP site says there shortblock with 58cc should be around 10.5-1 comp. the other heads i had more like 8.7-1 I think, they were 64cc I am gonna have my trick flow r lower port matched to the heads. And i'm gonna run 30lb injectors with aeromotive fuel system. Once i get it back together i'm gonna have Craig put in a chip and tune it.

I got the engine al back together tonight. All i need is plugs, oil and filter. I also have to figure out what i'm gonna do with the coolant temp sensor, I am blocking off all the coolant lines from the pump and thermostat.

I also picked up a new piece for the interior lastnight. Thanks Curt! :bigthumb

Once i get this car back together i have to pull the heads off my Holcomb Motosport engine and tear into the bottom end and see what is wrong with it. I have a home for this motor. :D

Hey Brian I have the line and fittings that are under my hood I'll make you a good deal on. I'm gonna switch over to the black line and blk/silver fittings. Figure up what size/style fittings you need and length of line and if I have what you need I'll work out a good deal. Btw the stuff under my hood is -8.

What all do you have?

Hey Brian it looks like I have (6) -8 straights. One is a little faded and another is attached to approx 3ft of braided line. I also have (3) -8 45's, two are a little scratched up and 1 is good. Other than the piece that is 3ft all I have are a few pieces from 6-12" long.

Well sunday i made some good progress, I wish i had another set of hands on it but i got it took a little longer than i had hoped. But it's i the car and now it's time for all the little details, I am gonna touch up the engine bay a little i need to start purchasing my braided fuel line and fittings.. Only thing i need other than fuel line and fittings is a belt. I fabbed up a pulley from a stock tensioner on my march bracket with a little shimming, Filing everything worked out pretty good. Thanks to Kenny for the spacers... :bigthumb

Once i get this beast fired up and tuned, Then i am gonna weld in my door bars and switch my interior to black.:D

All is well, Took it out for a spin this eve woke up a few old peeps in the hood. Does anyone know if driving without a hood is a violation??

You know the "man" will harass your Stang driving butt whenever he can.:(

It was the oil mix platnum and royal purple synthetics. Also had a little fuel in the oil from running a touch rich.

Had a small leak on the elec water pump too, Took it off and sealed everything back up.

As for the smokey burnout pics, I cant even get the car out of my neighborhood without getting pulled over for something or the other.

It runs and drives fine, Just i have some old ball neighbors and they like to have the Sherriff do a drive by to see what i'm doing. :flipoff: Cleves cops well they like to pull it over and you have to go through there to get to E20.

I need to get a smaller hood so i don't get hassled so much.

I cant run a stock hood, I have a 6 inch pin on on it now. I am gonna buy a Ho Fibertrends 4 inch cowl hood bolt on and a fiberglass trunk lid. Maybe at the spring swap if i make it out there.

Well i finally got around to fixing this, Oil pan gasket was screwed up brand new one piece. So i replaced that with a new one piece and replaced the rear main seal. I just fired it up this morning and took it out for a drive. Back to the house no leaks. I am good to go. I pulled the motor replaced the pan gasket and rear main seal, And put the motor back in and running in 7 hours by myself. I am fuggin beat.

It does run pretty well. The day i blew the rear main at e20 and they told me to leave. It was running terrible, And went 12.00s breaking up. I have tweaked and tuned on it and this things runs pretty decent. I am ready to take it back to the track and see what it does now.
