Enjoy it while it last because I am sure it won't be much after election day when the prices go the other direction.

Now if they do stay down then I will be picking up a Grand Cherokee SRT8 for a daily driver. :D

Still $2.80 here. Gas prices were the only thing I missed about living in Cincy, LOL.

I'm betting somehow this all has to do with the election. The better mood people are in, the more they'll focus on the election and not gas prices. I'm sure by Christmas it'll be at least back to 3 a gallon. I did say it'll never be lower than $2.50 a gallon so i'm (gladly) eating my words there.

I don't understand why the price of gas is not plastered all over the front page of the newspaper. It sure was when it hit 4.xx. Now is the time to move investments into oil stocks. Cheap to buy and by next spring, you could sell high and reap some huge profits!!!

gas price may be going up. OPEC is cutting production by 1-1.5 million barrels a day

Just payed 2.099 for 89. 87 was listed for 1.999 a gallon at the UDF on Pleasant Ave in Fairfield. It feels good to fill a tank up for less than 30 dollars.

The media can't risk the lower gas prices being misconstrued as a republican success, because then God....I mean Obama might lose some votes.

Why would that effect prices?????

2.5 billion barrels of excess production daily. Right now inventories are high since all the refinerys are coming back on line.

Yeah I totally havent seen gas anywhere near that cheap hardly at my house, or in Cincinnati this week... or in Grant county yesterday, where is is usually at least .20 cents cheaper than by NKU by my house.

I think it will skyrocket right after election time.

Because the media doesn't not make money unless it's gloom and doom.

Lower gas prices will lead to more spending elsewhere will will drive the economy back up.

But we don't want to report on that.

It's 2.38 here.

Wooo!! $2.15 on my way to work driving through Blanchester!!!

I can almost feel the days where $20 gets me almost 10 gallons again!!

I know I am young, but I long for the days where I can put $8 in the Mustang II and drive ALL DAY!!!

Lower gas prices are not going to revive the economy on it's own. The largest cause of the slumping economy and thus the the lower prices is credit lines. If a company, maybe yours, needs a credit line to make payroll and it is slashed someone is getting laid-off. That means less money in the economy to spend. Works the same on companies wanting to expand. If no credit is available to expand then no expansion.

Well that and apparently Wall Street likes to play Poker as well.

Why all the conspiracy theories with the idea that gas prices only have gone down because of the election and afterwards they'll go back up?

It hardly makes any sense. What about the economic effects on prices? The economy is in a downturn and oil prices have plummeted. Oil prices plummeted because investors pulled out money, because they're scared the global economy is in a recession or headed toward one. They think that global demand will fall off sharply, and it will. China's demand has and probably will continue to fall off, as will the USA's.

This has hardly nothing to do with any pending election. That's naive.

And baaahahahaha @ the statement that the media won't push this because this might look good for the republicans. Yeah right. The economy falling doesn't look good for anyone.

Correct it won't do it on it's own.

But it will be a huge boost for retail sales especially around the holiday times.
Retails sales are generally a good indicator of ho the common fella feels about the economy.

Cutting the price of gas almost in half of what we were paying will be a noticeable boost to the economy.
The end all No but it will be a substantial help.
