I'm selling my car that needs a fuel pump and one guy is wanting to buy it if he can hear the car and make sure the engine runs smooth, which is completely understandable.

Other than hitting the gas tank with a rubber mallot and starting the car up, is there anything else I can do? The car will run for a few seconds and then quit. All I need is to have it idle for a minute or two.

Any suggestions?

You could get an electric pump, a gas jug and some hose and rig something up so you could run the car off a jug of gas instead of the gas tank..

See if anyone has the stock 88lph pump that came from their car.

I have a stock pump, works just fine.

You could drive up and get it tomorrow, for free!

I would do that... if I wasn't 3 hours away, LOL. I do appreciate it, though!
