View Full Version : Racism in the election....

Well, I keep hearing how the racists are going to come out of the closets and help push McCain ahead. As repugnant as racim is, I've been secretly hoping for a voter bussing program for the kooks in the white pointy hats. I figure it'd be no less fair for a group to vote against Obama for his race, than the groups that will for for him because of his race.

In all seriousness though, I ran into something tonight that I guess was just too obvious for me to have seen sooner. I'd started talking randomly with friends who declined to say who they were voting for. After I let them know I was voting against Obama, they sheepishly admitted they were doing the same. This was not because they are racist, but because they were trying to avoiding being acused of being racist. I don't know why I didn't see it sooner. Quite often when I say I'm voting for McCain, I get people automatically claiming it's because I'm a racist. This must make it into polling data.

I wonder how widespread this really is?

Thats bullshit that blacks are alway calling white people racist. I know for a fact Obama has made racial comments against whites and that is the exact reason why I wont vote for him. Hitler was the last man in charge of an entire country that was completley rascist and look what happened. When I look a black/Native American/Spanish/white man I dont see race I see a man standing in front of me.

Both Barack & Michelle Obama have spewed so much racial hate rhetoric against white people in their past comments(including Michelle's thesis on racial division) and yet they have received virtually a free pass on it from the MSM. If 1% of the comments they made were flipped and mentioned by McCain, this election would be well and truely over. It is, without a doubt a horrendous double standard. Because there is a minority individual running for the highest office in the country, you can't speak out against him because of the color of his skin. Quite frankly his socialist issues, his personal associations and a slew of other issues cause far greater concern to the vast majority, than those who would discredit him because of the color of his skin - and I guarantee however that FAR more in his camp are voting against McCain, simply for the color of HIS skin.

I absolutely agree with both of you. Somehow it's acceptible for minorities to be racist against whites. I've even heard it called "reverse racism." WTF is that? Racism is racism. It doesn't even have to be about hate.

Have any of you read the studies etc about how black children of years past thought they were ugly because all of the dolls were white and not like them? Well, what about our white children today that grow up being taught that they're evil because they're white? Or, what about dancing?! I'm a grown man afraid to dance because I've heard so many times white people don't have rhythm! Okay, that was a joke  but still. haha Racism is stupid.

I'm just curious how many white people are actually afraid to vote against the guy because he's black. The people I talked to had expressed essentially that they'd been ripped apart pretty good by people over it.

I could care less if I'm called racist because of what party I vote for. I have a backbone and will always state my views regardless of what others think.

Take a valium and relax guys. The next thing you will be asking for is reparations on behalf of the oppressed white majority. You are starting to sound like liberals.

lol.... funny how now you're always trying to tell everyone to relax and sound so condescending like you're above it all. You've talked some seriously stupid shit to act like our concerns are somehow "silly" and inconsequential. lol What a douche.

Well, Hardcore, I believe my predictions regarding the campaign have pretty much been on the mark if you examine my prior posts on the subject. I don't recall the facts I cited, or relied upon, being shown to be wrong or without a foundation.

Unlike you, I don't really care whether McCain or Obama wins (although it sems pretty clear Obama will win), since once you get past the campaign puffery, neither is prepared to face the budget deficit demon that has now doubled again during the last 8 years. Another crisis that will somehow take many people by surprise.

You are so blinded by your strong personal convictions (even when you are correct) that you have difficulty understanding other points of view that differ from yours. For example, your recent post that you couldn't understand how anyone could still be undecided regarding the election. Your world seems to consists solely of black and white; good and evil; and, Harcore's opinions and the wrong opinions.

Well I'm not sure if anyone knows about this but Howard Stern did a thing on his show where they went out in I think Brooklyn and surveyed people who were voting for Obama. (yes they were African Americans) They asked if they agreed on his views against abortion and his vice president nominee Palin. And they were saying they agreed with him! So I think there is a racial thing there. I'll have to look for the video....

why would anyone be afraid to vote for McCain because they are afraid someone will think of them as racist. Our votes obviously aren't public information, so who the hell cares. If you don't want anyone to know who you are voting for, then don't tell them.

Guys!!! Get over it. It's gonna be more of this racial issues once obama gets in office. I just hope nobody tries to assasinate him before he can get the country back on it's feet. Now quote from The Malcolm X movie" Are we marked for death? Yes we are". I think he'll do fine during his 2 terms in office.

I see either of those as racism...it wouldn't be any different than if i said i'm voting for McCain because he's white...i'd be branded a racist, so why is it any different for the Obama supporters?

Oh, i'll tell ya...because you bringing up the notion that they're voting based on race makes YOU a racist, or so they'll say. Love how that works huh?

I'm not saying people are afraid to actually vote their conscience. I'm saying that it seems people would rather avoid the ridicule than to openly support McCain.

ive had a chance to read thru both of the posts on here regarding this election and for me its easy to see what is the motivating force behind the mccain/palin ticket, and as hard as it is for some of you to admit, even tho you say its not a factor, their paltform is not the driving force for their support.lets follow the lead of ny and bend the rules so that W can try for a third term, cause with the ticket the rep. have now thats bout rwhere we will end up if they win.WHEW GOOD THANG THATS NOT GONE HAPPEN.but its america and feel how you want just be strong enuff to stand by your true convictions

I voted for him twice, and he's far from being an idiot. Oh, I'd vote for him against Obama too, or any other Democrat. There are some things Bush pisses me off about, but all in all he's been a decent president.

I mean shit... everyone talks about how wonderful Clinton was but we're just now realizing the effects of his legacy. Corporate scandals, 9/11, housing / mortgage crisis, Iraq, etc. Bush inherited a lot from the Clinton administration, and none of them were a "surplus."

Clinton's main goal was getting his dick wet and padding his pockets before he got the hell out of Dodge. He handed over a big old stinking shit sandwhich.

GWB isn't a genius by any stretch. But he walked into a cluster fuck. And no matter how you color it, while Clinton was busy getting his dick sucked, he was also laying the foundation for the big stinking mess we're all in now. Not too many presidents who could fix that. I've heard that before...You can't fix stupid.... Not the same context, but it seems apropos.
