Ok I am wondering if I really need to use tall valve covers with AFR 185 with stud moundted rockers or can I use a shorter set.....the reason I ask was in order for my intake and throttlebody to clear the tall valve cover I had to use 2 BBK 3/8 spacers and Now my BBK strut tower brace wont clear the throttle body. Thanks guys......

I'm fairly certain you will. I've heard of people grinding spots out on the inside of the covers but fordfan (Kenny) had a ton of clearance issues with Edelbrock Victor heads and his stock covers. I'm pretty sure he's using some 5/8 thick gaskets and that gives him enough clearance, but he's gotta use a 1 inch intake spacer to clear the valve cover.

On my heads ('69 351) with stud mount 1.6 rollers, there's no chance in hell the stock valve covers will clear, probably not even with 5/8 gaskets.
