I run 15 / 10s with a 6.5 back spacing with 28 / 10.5 slicks on my car stock length rear end but i had to beat the inter wheel wheels and remove the other lip because of the big tires , i ran 26/11.50 et streets with no beating

I also run the 6.5 bs and run 26x10.5 et streets. I need to go with a wider tire. No beating here either.

With a 28 you will need to do some hammering and rolling. The 86 has 28x9 MT slicks and the coupe has the 275/60/15s, both are on 15x10 w 6.5 BS.

yeah i tried 28/11.50/15 et streets to start with on my 86 and with the 87-up ground effects the tires were touching the rear ground effect so i sold them and bought MT radials. did you beat the inners on your 86?

yeah i got mine put on today and i'm going to have to beat mine in some more.they are still rubbing some on the inside.now what method did you use to roll your fenders?i took a grinder and grinded the lip some but it's still not enough they still touch the tire a little when the car bounces from hitting a bump.

I took mine all the way off and then sanded it smooth . now if they hit it does not cut the tire . You need to beat the hell out of the inter fenderwells to if you beat the front long enough it will split and get you alot of room . you can almost make the tub square . The other part is around the spring you have to beat it till you can see the indetion of the spring . It called the poor mans mini tub :D

I always cut most of the lip off with a whiz wheel then sand the cut as smooth as I can, I've done it on three cars and it's always been fine. It may not be the best method if you are going to try to run anything bigger than I have.

Are there any issues with the quarter's being weak/wobbly? I'm running 8" rears, but want something a little meatier. I want to figure this out before I paint this thing lol...

It doesn't hurt a thing. I don't cut the lip flush, I always leave about 1/8-1/4 to keep the outer wheelhouse and quarter together.

so if i run the 6.5 bs and run 26x10.5 et streets I will not have to cut or roll anything... whats that equal close to? 275-55-15

You may have to do a little massaging. I have 26 x 11.50 et streets on my coupe with 6.5 backspace on 10' rim.

Man that looks right:bigthumb but the sidewall of the tire doesent rub the quarter at all? Even on launch? I have a set of new streetstars that I bought for my notch, but would way rather do this...
