I have a whirlpool water heater that's about 3 yrs old. It quit working, It has a small control panel on top, all the lights are out. After doing a little research, I think the control board is bad. Does anyone know where I can buy a new control board locally? I would hate to order one. I would hate to spend 3-400 dollars on a new heater when I can replace the control board, But I don't want to be w/out hot water either. Thanks in advance.

I live south of Dayton, but if someone has what I need, I'll take a trip.

They have a location in Cincy. They may have one closer to you.

From a quick search, on Whirlpool's web site, I found this one.

Cincinnati Appliance Parts Company
11273 Grooms Road
Cincinnati, OH 45242-1470 Phone: 513-489-1980

There is a appliance company, here in Hamilton, call Pate Appliance Service. There phone
# 513-863-4700. I think they carry Whirlpool parts too.

Do you have one, or one at each location that you use hot water. I think I'm going to get a water softner also, any opinions on these.

Our Whrilpool water heater just went out last week. It was only 4 years old, and the tank burst. Just an FYI.

I just bought another whirlpool water heater and water softener. I want a hot shower in the morning, so it's easiest just to replace it like for like. Hope fully the softener will extend the life of the heater, and make the water less hard. The water here in Miamisburg is some hard crap.

The water softener should help. The water in the Miami Valley is generally very very hard. It will make a big difference in things like laundry and dish washing as well.

Also at first you will think the water taste nasty but hate the unsoftened stuff later.

my on demand water heater will work for any water outlet.Kitchen, bathroom, pretty much anywhere you need hot water.I will never own another tank water heater. This thing sits in a small cabinet above the washer.Ill snap a pic of it when i get home.Like i said, its about 3-4 inches thick and about 11 inches long and about 7 inches wide. Its really nice. And my showers will stay boiling hot for days if i wanted it to.It never gets cold if thats the way you want it.Saved us about 30-40% on the electric bill.

What did that thing cost? I've heard the commercials for the renai tankless water heaters, which is probably the same thing you have. Just can't find a price on one.

Well, Rob and I finally got the heater/softener installed about 1:30am, and we feel like a couple of trees.
