Viper or Z06 Whats your vote?

Im debating on getting a newer Viper or Z06. The vipers I like is the snake skin green GTS or a blue with grey stripes GTS.

I think the Viper has more of a "look at me" persona. I dunno. I always liked the GTS's...i would opt for the Vette over an open top Viper but with a GTS i'd probably go with the Viper.

I am biased since I own a C6 Z06, but I considered both and opted for the Z. What led me away from the Viper was the heat inside the cabin on long drives, but that may not be an issue for you. Either car is an America masterpiece.

You can lease a vette. Which means every exec wanna be could be driving one. Get the Viper. You still don't see very many, unlike the vette.

I own a C5 Vette, and I would definately go for the Viper. They are alot more rare to see out on the road. Another suggestion would be to wait for the price to come down, and get the 09 ZR1??

I would say viper just cause you dont see as many on the road and they do stand out, i see so many vettes that when you see one its just another car on the road, nothin special.

I like it but I really like the 06-present Viper GTS'. This is my plan if I get a Z06 I will put a Procharger on it and some nice rims to match the car and lower it about a inch. If I get the Viper I might Procharge it or I might send it to Barber Motorsports and have them install their twin turbo system. Its good for 1500 rwhp and it is guaranted to have that much horsepower when it leaves the shop. I will also put rims and a lowering and call it a day. I like the look of the Vipe alot more than the Z06 but I have heard nothing bad about the performance of the Z06. It is a tuff decision but Im liking the Viper at this point.

0311 Infantry, my last year I had a security clearance and worked in the AGSOC. While I was in Iraq I was convoy security for Convoy's traveling though Iraq. Ive done almost everything except aircraft mechanic.

It doesnt have to be brand new just a newer body style 06-present. In 2008 there are more options than snake skin green. Here is a chart of the colors.

I have seen a 06 gts with 3k miles for $55K. I figured if I wait til next summer I can get one for $49k.

I have driven a 05 Viper Roadster and it was impressive. ALOT of power, my only complaint is the interior is cramped but its bassically a race car. The only vette I have been in is a 1990 with a automatic and it was horrible. I really cant compare it to a newer vette though. I have found a brand new 2LZ Z06 Jet stream blue for $62k. The only thing it doesnt have is leather wrapped doors.

Before the Viper power was bumped up to 600 hp in 2008, the Z06 was slightly faster. However, the Viper comes with much better tires than the Goodyear runflats on the Z.

Take it out for a drive. The C4 Vettes were no comparison, they were crap boxes compared to the C6s.

Another item to consider is if you plan on modifying. Both are going to be expensive regardless, but have you priced Viper parts? :eek:

You can do what you want to a LS3 C-6, It is still not a ZO6 Beef. Especially when you try to resell it. In todays market good luck getting your money back on all of those aftermarket parts!!

I would go Viper, but if I were spending $60000 i would buy a 63-71 Hemi mopar! Have an investment you can enjoy. Never lose money on it!
