Pulling the radio out

Anyone know how to pull the stock radio out of an 02 Mustang? I dont wanna break it. Its a 6 Disk cd changer and i have all 6 cds jammed. I wanna try and fix it im getting tired of the radio lol.

Do those have the 4 little holes on the sides? 2 on each side. If it does they make a tool to insert in them to release it.

install in the holes at each end...then remove radio,unplug...

gonna have to take it apart. I had a cd player eat a cd once. had to dissect the whole thing. I hope you arent putting that back in the car once you get your CD's out....

If it ate 6 CDs I think I would take it out with a log chain and tractor.........

6 CD changers are wrthless IMO, get something that plays mp3's. 1 disk of mp3's is equal to about 10 cd's.

Wouldn't it have been great if the stock '02 Mustang head unit offered MP3 compatibility? ;)

Heck, my '04 didn't have that option. It was '06 before Mazda offered that. I do cruise around with a 40gb iPod attached to the MD channel, though. :bigthumb

Common problem with the Mach 460. I can't really remember but I don't believe you need the radio tools. Once you get it out take the outside case off and pull your CD's out. Really not that difficult just make sure you take your time. Mine sticks on slot 6. I just take a credit card and slid it in underneath the cd and pull up and out. That usually unsticks it. I have Master of Puppets in slot 6 now, I figured that way I would never take it out.....lol.

Btw, If you change the stock unit you will have to replace pretty much everything. It's an oddball system. The speakers are 7 ohms and pretty much the amps won't work with anything else. It sucks. Do a Google on it and you should find everything you need.
