I've been thinking about buying a decent player and was checking them out at best buy today. The 30 gig unit is pretty sweet. I looked at the touch too, but I think I'm over the whole touch screen thing, I'd rather be able to use my thumb to scroll, it becomes more one handed. Any thoughts?

It may also be in your best bet to look into iPod's. You can do the whole one-handed scrolling for if you're driving, and they have a lot of technical people to back them up in case something happens to them. They have a lot of devices to be able to use them with stereo's and such. I've never had a problem with my iPods, and I'm on my 3rd one (I had a 2nd gen 4 gig nano, then I now have an 80 gig classic and an 8 gig touch that came with my laptop)

I will agree that that the iPod is a better choice simply because there are more accessories availble. You might want to check out the refurbished ones from Aple at the link above. They carry the same warranty as a new one and some models are pretty heavily discounted. Thats how I bought my Macbook laptop and its been trouble free for more than a year now.

30gig Ipod Video here. Works flawless and has been abused. ZUNE should work nice too. I like the controls on the Ipod because I can work them while its in the inside pocket of my riding jacket.

The wife has one and loves it. It works really well. Not a huge fan of the Zune software though.

I just read that it doesn't come with a browser, that blows. I could care less about sending my buddy a song. That kind of pisses me off.

I'm not a big fan of the iTunes software for iPods. I usually have to beat it to submission with a stick, because Apple is like a virus, lol!
I have the 80 gig one.
Software sucks but overall I like it. I also like paying just $15/month for any song I want. But if you stop paying, you don't get to keep them. Still like it better that way. First week I downloaded 2,000 songs.

I love my Zune player! The player itself is pretty cool and simple to use. The software can be a PIA, but iTunes can be as well. I got a great deal on my player, so it was an easy choice. Good luck!

You can't back it up and save the music? What actually happens if you stop paying?

You can use Yamipod with the Ipod to back up everything on it. Great little piece of software.

I haven't looked into any hack ways around it. When you download music, it downloads it to your computer. You then sync the zune. If you haven't had the zune plugged into the computer for awhile (or don't pay) the music won't play. It's there, but when you try and play it, it says you must verify rights.

I use mp3rocket for my music its 29.99 for lifetime unlimited downloads. If you want to use MP3 rocket let me know and I will explain how to get it for 29.99. Also I have used every MP3 player out and I like the Zune and the Apple stuff its all about the same once you get used to it.

I have friends that have Zunes and they love them to death. My other friends have iPod's and they love them to death. I've never had any problems with iTunes and my iPods in the past. They've all worked flawlessly for me. Maybe you guys need to be nicer to your equipment, haha

go with the Ipod. It seems to be the universal standard for interfaces and accessories.
The best part about the ipods is being able to hook them directly to a radio, and all the controls are done through the radio.
