FINALLY! Got the 347 in and running, the car still looks like shit, but the motor sounds evil! It's a clone of the FMS 347 Z headed crate motor, supposed to be rated at 450 HP and 400 lbs/ft torque. We even got the correct hydraulic roller cam for it. The only change was a Weiand X-Celerator intake instead of the Victor Jr. that comes on the crate motor. The RPM's are insane, blip the throttle and it's right there. I'm really concerned about traction now, it just blows the 10" slicks away on the street. The 306 was so lazy it barely turned 'em unless I sprayed it. I'm really hoping for some high 10's on the motor, it went 10.70's-10.90's with a 175 shot on the 306 which made about the same HP as the 347 should on motor. I'll see if I can get some pics of the install this weekend.

Depending on light your car is you should be able to run a high 10 with ~410 rwhp. I ran a best n/a of a 10.84 at 124 in my coupe with my 347 that put down 420rwhp/400rwtq at ~3200lb's. Get the car light and get it to hook.

Thanks Jeff. The car weighs about the same as yours, just about 3200 with me in it. It has South Side upper and lower control arms, Lakewood 90-10 front struts and 50-50 rear shocks, C-4 reverse manual with a 4000 stall Precision converter and 3:55 gears. On the bottle with the 306 it pulled mid 1.40's to low 1.50's short times. I'd LOVE to see a 9.90 pass on the bottle. :D

Went to the track Saturday, ran a best ever 11.52 @ 115.14 on motor and on a 175 shot of nitrous it went 10.43 @ 127.52 on a 1.49 short time, and a 10.45 @ 127.63 on a 1.40 sixty. However, I'm wondering if I need more carb. The MPH was virtually the same on every pass, both on motor and on the bottle. All the nitrous passes were within a couple of tenths as were both the motor passes, no matter how we tuned it. The car started out really fat and I kept pulling fuel but it never went any faster. For the record, I'm running a modded Holley 650 double pumper. Would stepping up to a 750 help?
