Well my 18 y/o had a 97 Malibu that finally bit the dust. So we started car shopping last week and ended up with a 91 4 cyl coupe. He only had 1500.00 at his disposal so it was quite interesting car shopping. He also doesn't know how to drive a stick. We gave 750.00 for the coupe which low and behold is a 5 speed. He is going to learn real quick or dad just found him a project for over the winter. The kid we got it from wanted a 1000.00. The car is in pretty good shape. The only real bad spot on it is the drivers side rear fender. It has some rust but its primarily the outside metal. The interior cleaned up well and looks 100 X's better than it did. The 2.3 in this is actually out of a Ford Ranger. I picked up a electric fan to replace the clutch fan and a thermostat housing from a 2.3 out of another Mustang along with the right upper radiator hose. The car was missing the mass air meter, air box , and intake tubeing to the TB. I went to pull and pay and picked up a meter and air box for 10.00. I stopped at pepboys and picked up some cold air pipe and a few other things. I picked up a set of wheels and tires for it last night as well. The old wheels and tires had to go. The kid that owned this before us decided he wanted to paint this thing flat black so he did with spray paint. He included the windows as well as the emblems and door locks. We took care of that with some 0000 steel wool. I still have quite a bit of paint to get off the windows. Jesse(Stangman) has been over the house working on this every night this week with us. Without him we wouldn't be as far as we are. Still have to put exhaust on it and a different radiator. The car is also in need of some front brakes and ball joints. My son just registered this morning. He is still waiting for the admin to send him a link to login. His username is 4BanginIt4Now. We have some pics from last night of the wheels befor and after and the pipeing we did for the air intake. The pics aren't the best so I will try to get some more tonight. He says he is going to drive it to the fall cruise in.

That would be fun! And as for the wheels... the tires on them were COMPLETELY shot, and the rims were flat, not even dished or anything... and they had spray paint all over them. So for $200 you cant beat new wheels with almost new tires

i'm thinking so lol. they could build a nice 2.3t and get some good results, but it wouldn't be the same as a nice v8 i suppose lol. good call on the other wheels with good tires by the way. haha

It's kinda funny when I am over there... the amount of black mustangs is amusing... and If I had my way, my coupe would be black too
