I caught these two on the back deck.

What do you think? The camera is a Nikon D300. I took these a few hours ago.

BTW, these are 50% of actual image size. Photobucket automatically reduces them. They are HUGE on screen at 100% image size.

Nikon makes some bad ass cameras. I want one bad. I miss taking pictures.

About one foot. They didn't mind the flash but they didn't like me getting very close.

I wish that I could post the full size version. Then, you could really see detail! :)

These were taken with a Tamron 28-75 F2.8. I also have a 70-300 F4.5-5.6 VR kit lens. It's not as fast, but the VR is worth 2-3 stops. I wanted a constant aperture for the bigger zoom, but I can't afford it. The other than depth-of-field, the VR makes the big lens much easier to use.
