Went by Beechmont Ford to gaze at the Shelby KR. Nice car, but $82K sticker for a Mustang? Added dealer mark-up brought the asking price to $125,000.:eek::eek:

Beef,
Even at sticker for the KR, $82K, would you take that over a brand new Z06 (which you can easily get for $10K under sticker--$68K)? The Z is faster, corners better and gets significantly better gas mileage. I realize the Shelby name is worth something and that many who buy it will not drive it, but Ford is heading the wrong direction with the Mustang. I still say the 03-04 Cobra was the best Mustang ever when you factor the price to performance.

+1
Unless they are planning on opening up a whole for a smaller, $20k RWD platform... a la 2020 Pinto...:D They're pricing their cars way out of the market. Camaro SS isn't going to be near that expensive.

I love the looks of the kr but not the price. If I had the money for one there's no way for would drop it on the kr. I'd go with the zo6 for that price. Drop another 10k into a z06 and nothing on the road would touch it and your still 40k plus cheaper. What the hell is up with that? I love how the car companys price all the nice rides out of the hands of the people who really want them.

i wouldn't spend the money on it myself
it will be for limited collectors
i think the mustang has been doing great, the 05 to 09 has done great, now we have the glass roof and a new revision for 10
supposed to be back to a 4v 5.0 in the gt, should be awesome

That's absurd. People need to remember that it is after all a Mustang, not a Porsche/BMW/Benz etc. I don't care if it does have 500+hp, you can buy a base GT and throw a turbo on it and make that for a fraction of a fraction of the cost. And screw exclusivity...for that kind of money i'd build a one of a kind Mustang that NOBODY has.

I love the look of the shelby, but for the money, I'd have to buy the Z06

We don't agree on much but I couldn't agree more! I could never, ever imagine spending that much money on a Mustang, even if I had the cash! I absolutely LOVE the new Z06 and would rock that and several other cars before spending that much on a 'Stang.

A new Z06 at $68K is one hell of a car for the money. I preferred Atomic Orange when we bought our Z06 last year and the wife wanted Machine Silver--you can guess how that turned out.

I think it's obvious none of us would pay that money for a KR, but then again, none of us would like to stuff our noses up Carrol Shelby's ass either. Some guys though, yea, they want the brown on their nose and they'll pay 100K+ for a gussied up Mustang, as long as it has the 6 magical letters on the back..
