Just finished watching Steve McQueen's LeMans. It has to be the greatest racing movie ever. Good drama and the focus is on the race not the lives of the drivers. There is just enough background to understand the back story of the main characters. Steve McQueen actually drove a car most of the movie rather than a stunt driver. It is great seeing a movie where the racing and drivng is real rather than computer generated.

On same subject, lets not forget Paul Newman who in his 80's with terminal cancer less than a month ago took laps at a pretty good speed at his "home" track of Limerock.
one simple word to describe them........
Heros.
I'll post the links later.....,,,,but you'll need a e-towel.

Paul Newman and Steve McQueen... Hollywood's dying breed...
I can only imagine what badass movies Steve could have done if he lived past 1980
I am a huge Steve McQueen fan, I have almost all of his movies

That movie is great!
There is some great history on the making of that movie. A google search on LeMans is highly recommended if you have some time to burn!
Gotta love the old Porsche's:)
