I need to find a good Evinrude 115 (preferably at least a mid 80's model) with good compression, that starts/runs good, idles down, and shifts into and out of FWD/REV. 20" shaft will work, and shift/throttle cables included would be a plus. Either VRO (oil injected) or premix, doesn't matter.

i got a 50hp merc. if you buy it for 7k i will throw in a free 17ft triton bass boat.

but i got a friend that works at a marine shop down at cumberland. i will give him a call and ask him what he has. what are you looking to spend?

Depending on what it is (year and model and condition) a fair price for what it is. I know that sounds vague, but it is what it is. I don't want something new, but I don't want a worn out p.o.s. with 1000 hours on it either. I just want solid reliable power. Cumberland is too big of a lake to get stranded! I have a 70 on it now, but it is getting to be a pain in the ass, and if I am going to repower, I want to go with a 115 (max the boat is rated for).

Thanks.

BTW...where does your friend work(what parts around Cumberland)?

cumberland is the only lake i use it on cause we got a house boat at state dock and sometimes i go to baitsville indiana for some good crappie fishing. i bet it does not even have 60 hours on it. all i do is go to my spot, shut it off and start trolling. its a 2001 triton 17 footer, 50hp mercruiser, 70 pound trolling motor, 2 dept finders, 2 livewells, plenty of storage for ancres and poles. its awesome for what i use it for. i bought it for 2400 bucks at auction cause it was repoed. its worth around 7 or 8k. i will try and find the website of the auction i got it at. its local and they have hunderds of boats, cars and quads. but you got to know someone with a dealers liscense.

State Dock is a really nice marina! I bet you're lovin it now that the poker run starts there! I put in at either alligator 2 dock, or where the old alligator 1 dock was. We have a place a few miles up from the water there. The issue of getting a new outboard is a goal for next spring, I really don't feel like fighting that 70 horse Evinrude again next spring, it probably needs to be rebuilt, and if thats going to happen, I want to go with something with more power. It's on a 28' pontoon boat, and about as far as we go on it is State Dock, or Harmon Creek.

Man you got one hell of a deal on that boat! Hard to wrong there! :bigthumb If you think of it, ask your friend what he has laying around there @ LC Marine. Thanks!
