how good is a 79 ghina fox body is...i want to make it a nice street car and i just want to know where to start with it...i bought a 73 motor out of a mustang and are they any good..also want to know wat rear end is in it...i need to know places that i can find body parts and refreshen the motor too.. just a few question i have and i sure i will have more later on thanks :bigthumb

I believe you meana "Ghia"...which was sort of the luxury model back then. As long as the car itself is in good shape then it has as much potential as any Mustang. It's also about to be 30 years old which makes it even cooler. I'd personally opt for a newer 302 with a roller cam.

not 100% certain on the 79's but it probably has a 7.5" rear end in it with I would guess a 2.79:1 rear gear ratio. The 7.5's are not very strong, you will want to upgrade to an 8.8" rear end to avoid durability issues.

You're correct. The 8.8 didn't come in until '86 in the 5.0 cars. Also you'll need to get a newer '86+ double pump transmission cross member so you can run duel exhaust.

i found the trans member and how good is the 8in rear end...the only reason i am gonna use the 73 is i already have it...i would like to know where i can find good parts places and wat to avoid buy thats a waste of money...ill try to gat some pics up so you can see wat im workin with..it was a 4cly car before....
