Hopefully they'll have a sidewall and the cutaway is for demonstration purposes only.

they are planned to be on market by 2012... and they are retarded... great idea for offroad use... but no rim swapping, and no nick that is not a cutaway... the tire section.. and rim section are both composite flexible components, so you will be buying a whole assembly not just a tire.. there is ugly, fugly, and OMFG, and those things are all of the above. We got this memo in tire industry years ago when they started the R&D of it, All i see is michelin wasting billions of dollars on a flop. Their test products were a skidloader and audi. I can see the industrial end happening but people enjoy looks way to much

They'll never go to market without a sidewall. Nowhere to put their name.

I saw video of this a few years ago. They were skidpadding it on a big Audi. Looks as though it might be able to corner. But with this, you have now lose the tire pressure adjustment in every suspension setting...

I've always wondered how they plan to keep them balanced with no sidewall. Get a little mud or other crap in there and the car will shake like crazy.

I'm certain it would have a sidewall of sorts to cover up the structure. Another problem with these are, it looks like the "low profile" design tires that are way popular now, would be next to impossible to mimic with this. Wasn't this thing called the "Tweel" when it was first introduced by Michelin?

yes tweel is the correct name
