question: i have an automatic tranny in my '93 gt and i want to put a 5 speed in it. 89gtconv's dad told me that you have to change out the computer and crap is this true? if so, what else entails? good choice or bad choice? help a brother out, please!

If you have or are going to a have a chip/tune, then you shouldn't ahve to change the computer. Major things you will need:

Clutch pedal assembly
Quadrant
Clutch cable
Clutch and flywheel
Wiring harness that runs under driver's seat to tunnel
T5 trans and bellhousing

I'm pretty sure you can use the AOD crossmember, I can't remeber if the driveshaft is different.

Someone who knows what they are doing or has done a swap before can do it in a solid day. You could definately get it done in a weekend.

The biggest pain in the ass is swapping pedal assemblies. Make sure the clutch pedal assembly is free (not binding/sticking) BEFORE you put it in the car!
