okay,

my cage is done, but the wheels are still rubbing, the car has 17x9's on the front with 255's and 17x9's on the rear with 275's

on bumps the front is hitting, we tried isolators, but they really don't work

so, should i go to a stock spring, or is there a spring that won't be as bad

this is the stance on the car now

http://www.new-used-ford-cars-trucks-for-sale-bankruptcy-special-financing.com/89f.jpg

so, should i go for a stock spring set, or is there a happy medium, i need to pull the front up probably 3/4 of an inch, and i'm gonna match the back to look decent,

any recommendations, i'm thinking something that only lowers like a 3/4 inch drop from stock, i'm not sure whats on the car now, but definately more than that

any help or advice?

Coilovers for the front would probably be the best solution.

I think the stance looks pretty good as-is. 255s are probably a little wide for the front of a fox. I have 245s on my 9" wheels, and don't have much of a rubbing problem. Zero rubbing on the pass side, and the rubbing on the driver side is just because my K-member is crooked. (1991 though with the bigger fender openings)

You could raise it up I guess, but it wouldn't look nearly as good.

it's rubbing too much, gotta come up some,

i think were gonna do some fms springs

should pick it up about 3/4 inch, should still look pretty decent

C springs probably have the best stance I've seen, don't know if they're much higher than that though. Hard to say.

Where are you rubbing? If its the fender lip I would roll the lip. I love the stance as it sits! You can always add a spacer under the current spring to raise it up a bit.

they already tried that, smallest we could find was the mr gasket and it was 1" and didn't seem to be working to well,

a 1/2-3/4" in the front would be perfect

Just double up on the stock rubber isolator as a spacer....that should give you about 1/2".

From what I have always seen 255's it too wide for the front of a fox

MM R&T springs on my car:

Springs are similar to H&R Race

The tires on it now are actually a 245/45/17 on a 9" wheel with who knows what kind of back spacing. They simply stick out too far and rub right at the top of the fender.

With some research we should be able to find a nice set of springs that will bring it up a bit but not make it sit higher than the rear. The rear may have to come up a bit too to keep this from happening.

255 are a bit wide.. prolly slim down tire size would be easiest... can you roll the fenders? if only hitting in a bump... and not turn.. then its not really tire size.. its the wheel offset. I test fitted my wheels with 275's on front i know my car is slightly different but cleared fine. just wasnt exact look i wanted.. so went to well currently 235.. but will change out soon enough.

Does it have 96 up spindles? I have some new Prothane isolators you are welcome to. I will never use them. They raise the car far to much for me.

Beef,

Now that you bought the Vette, are you going to sell the Fox?

A shop in Chicago, the car supposedly took 2nd place at the world of wheels in it's class a couple years ago

i figure the rear will need to come up a bit too, the wheels and tires that are on there are new ones, but basically the same size as what was on it when i bought it and they rubbed a bit as well, i sold those as i was originally going to do a 5 lug conversion

Summit sells a set of rear lower control arms Part # GNR-GMCA7998WJ for $199.95that works good for setting your ride height where you want it. For the front its either install a tire thats not so wide or install a taller spring. Thats too nice of a paint job to mess up.
