Well, my quest for the 11's is finally over.... I'm glad too because the hot weather is just around the corner and I look forward to spectating and drinking a few Monsters....:D
Drove it up to Muncie..... Forgot the chill wrap for the upper intake.... Don't know if it really helps but the last time I was up there, I ran 12.05 without it, and with it on, 12.01.......
1st pass was 12.10 @ 112.05mph w/ a 1.70 sixty foot.... For some reason, traction was a little off, maybe it was my car but I didn't think it was special compared to the way it was the last time...
2nd pass, lowered the 2-step 100 rpm's... ran 12.05 @ 111.66mph on a 1.63 sixty foot....
3rd pass, lowered the tire pressure 1/2 a pound, left the 2-step at 5,700 and off we go... I dialed in 12.00 against a 9.75 tubbed/"hole through the hood" Monte Carlo... I got down to the 1000' mark and seen he was still a ways back there so I knew it was a good pass or he was late on the tree...
I was .114 R/T to his .147.......
Sixty foot was 1.60 and it ran 11.99 @ 112.16 so I broke out and lost but I was happy... I just wish that track would've been hookin' like I know it can... a 1.56 sixty foot would throw me down to the 11.95-11.97 range...
Anyways, is there a way I can change my name to "11.9x Notch" ???

Thanks, I can't believe it's running 112mph... I remember when I first started making passes with this set-up, I was going 106-107mph.....

Congratulations man I knew you'd get it but it just shows you what a little hard work and perseverance will do for you, you've got that thing dialed in as 112 mph is awesome for this time of the year...............just wait until the cool fall air comes around! :bigthumb
Peace :cool2:

Congrats. Looks like your profile info also needs updated.
May I ask what is your set-up combination ?
5-Speed ? Gears ? 26x8.5 slicks ? 302 ? 6000 rpm thru traps ? full exhaust or open ? etc.

Thanks everyone! I forgot my intake wrap at home and the last time at the track, it was good for .03-.04 of ET..... I'm done with spending money and adding parts for a while... anything more than this is icing on the cake..
I just wish I could've been hookin' in the 1.56-1.57 range...
PHAT69AMX:
5 speed, 4.10's, 26 x 8.5 slick, about 6,000 through the traps...(shiftin' around 5,700)...99' Mountaineer engine, w/ speed density stock cam,
Car weighs around 3,100-3,125....
Full Exhaust... Through Dyno-Max Super Turbo cat-back... (gotta keep the law officers off my tail....)
Timido: You were right about the 1.72 rockers... Man, this thing is rockin'..... Maybe this fall I'll kick around the idea of getting a camshaft.... :cool2:

Curt...so you put the 1.7's on already?

Holly: I'll stay with the 12seclx name... Knowing my luck, I'll change my name and the car will never duplicate the 11.99....
Jeff: Yes, I put the rockers on.. Jesel "one off" custom set-up... $498
 No.. just kiddin'.. bought some cheapy Scorpions.... What's your thoughts on that Dyna-battery? Supposed to weigh 13.5 lbs. and I currently have a Motorcraft battery... I would like to lose a little weight and up front is the place to do it... I will not relocate the battery as I don't feel like drilling holes in the back of the car... ;)
My fuel settings are still the same as I had with the 1.6's, do you think it wants more fuel now with the 1.72's....?

Thanks 12seclx, was curious cause my "goal" has also always been 12.00-11.99.
Best so far is 12.6 sec and 109 mph. Simillar weight except the AMX is an automatic.
~3150 lbs, 367 c.i., 3k stall, TF-727, only a 3.73 gear, M/T 26x8.5's,
full 2.5 exhaust with flowmaster 40's and no X pipe, 6k thru traps.
60 foots in the 1.88 range, only 3 speed trans 2.45 1st gear and 3.73's I guess.
Always thought a 12.00 sec NA no n.o.s. street car was pretty respectabe.

109mph should be good for 12.20-12.30's.... If you get the sixty foot down, I think you'd be there... Your 3.73 gear combined with that 2.45 first gear in the tranny is probably costin' you on the sixty foot but I don't know much about auto tranny's and converters...
12.00-11.99 is moving along pretty well.., NA, street car trim...
Wouldn't hurt to be a little faster though... :D

I have Scorpion rockers on my 408 they go to 7200 all the time. The Dyna Battery worked great. Curt 7.50 index race at us41 on Sat. OSM starts at 3:30 Central time.

That's a long haul for me.... I'd really like to go but there's a stick race at Edgewater calling my name... I haven't went to one all year and I need to lay the smack down.....
Edgewater is about 15 miles vs. 100+ to us41....
I don't know... That osm looks like a good time, I just hate to go to an event where it's a long haul AND my car hasn't ran 7.50.... on the 11.99 pass, it only went 7.62 @ 87.77 (shiftin' at 5,800)
Plus, there's dealin' with the cat lady.... Fug that!
