OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel ass!!!

I was thinking about that the other day. We have something the world desires and needs too. don't understand why it is so devalued when we seem to control the market. I am not sure if the Russians contribute much to the world grain sales, I know they have incredible amounts of farmland.

the problem is. The rest of the world will throw a fit and blame us for their hunger.

yup we would be starving the world and be the bad guys more than we already are. Maybe we should work out a trade arrangement though. grain for oil.

Well positive perception by the rest of the world benefits us all, unless we are willing to go on an all-out assult of all the worlds' nations to take what we want by force. I don't know about you but personally I am more willing to help those that are nice to me.

Cam,

I pretty much agree...but as a whole, we are entirely "too nice" and way "too giving".

Or, I didn't think the "Oil for Illegals" idea was so bad... 1 barrel of oil per illegal per month. That's an extra 15-20 million barrels per month and one hell of a deal for the Mexican government.

Illegals send approximately $23,000,000,000 (the zeros are intentional) anually back to their families etc in Mexico. They receive $2,500,000,000 in Medicaid, $2,200,000,000 in losses due to uninsured care, $1,900,000,000 in food assistance, $1,400,000,000 in education aid, and cost the court systems $1,600,000,000 anually. This doesn't even touch the state's costs and impact on labor, costing Arizona alone $1,400,000,000. All of those are the costs of overhead we pay for Mexico to receive that $23B into their economy.

The least they could do is hook us up with some oil for all of that money.
