I want to start reading up and slowly picking up parts to assembly a 408 (maybe more) for the cougar. I need some place to go for good concrete info on what works. I am looking for a pump gas streetable 500hp. I know that should be pretty easy but I want to do it correct the first time and if it make more power then great.

thanks in advance for the Links and info.

Oh and we will see what I learn, as of know I am thinking 408/418 with a lite rotating assemley. Forged rods and pistons and a set of Afr 205's or 225's depending on what they say Or edelbrock heads (I realy dig vic's usa approch), and a vic Jr intake. and a custom grind cam (comp unless I see a reason other wise)

Get a hold of Chad393na, He knows a lot about getting BIG Horsepower with a stroked Windsor!!!

Flat top Pistons afr205s, 225s, Vic Jrs, Trick Flow R's, Port Matched Victor Jr Intake, Decent headers Decent Carb. Decent Cam. Easy to make closer to 600 at the flywheel. I have had great luck with a mild Solid Roller. Jason Chad MikeF and others have had great luck with Hyro-rollers.
