engine swap

i'm wanting to put a 5 ltr in a coupe thats got a 4 banger.

do i have to change the k member

better yet what needs to be changed to get this engine to fit right.

i did this years ago in an 85 4 banger coupe and didnt have to change anything to get the motor in.

same k member. i have heard that you can use the mounts, but i would change them.

i did an 87 hatchback. everything will slide down there. use 5.0 motormounts. biggest thing is wiring. the fuel pump relay wiring is differetn between a 4cyl and a 5.0. i just ran a hot wire from the ignition to the relay. fuel pump kicks on when you turn the key but it would run all the time.

we just did it as well. the only thing we changed was the crossmember of course and now he drives the car daily

i just finished my 4cyl swap to 302 and i put solid mounts in the car when the motor was out but its a direct swap. i cant help you with wiring b/c i went carb'd

with my fuel pump its wired to the on position with the key then i start the car by using the horn buttow... crude but it works lol and i dont haev to worry about anyone stealing the car
