I am looking to buy a cam for my 85 gt. It is a carbed 302 pretty much stock. I am not a mechanic so I just need help on which would be a good choice. I am looking for a mild cam that will add alittle power. Please help?

If its a factory 85 carbed engine then its a roller cam engine.Good stuff. Is it an auto,or manual car.and what is the main purpose of it,IE-daily driver, weekender, occasional strip car? Then we can go from there.

It is the factory motor with 139000 miles. It is a dailey driver and it is a 5 speed. Please let me know. Looking for more power but not to kill my gas mileage

I know Cincy speed has a TFS stage 1 cam and an E-cam on the wall for you to purchase.Either one of those will be good.Or you could go to a B-cam which has a more choppy idle than the E does. But you said you wanted to try to stay away from killing your mpg,i personally have an E-cam in my car and it runs great.Ive heard good reviews about the TFS stage 1 cam.So its really up to you.Let me get you the specs on both cams for you.
The E-303 cam offers...
•Good idle quality
•Excellent low and mid-range power
•Increase power up to 6,000 RPMs
•Emissions legal when used with a 5-speed transmission
•Works great with 1.7 ratio roller rockers
•Also great with superchargers
Specs:
•Peak torque RPM: 2500
•Peak horsepower RPM: 5500
•Duration: 282˚/282˚ and 220˚/220˚ at 0.050" lift
•Valve lift: 0.498"/0.498"
-TFS stage 1
ADVERTISED DURATION 275/279 DURATION AT .050" 221/225 VALVE LIFT W/1.6 ROCKER .499"/.510" MILD IDLE GOOD STREET CAM
