I have a 1996 Mustang Gt i would like to sell or trade for a fox body of equal value. The car is a 4.6 with a 5 speed with 151,000 miles. It has an off-road X-pipe with MIL Eliminators, Magnaflow Catback exhaust, Cold air kit, Fresh tune-up with Roush 9mm plug wires, New 190lph Holley fuel pump, JVC cd player, Sirius satellite radio and basically new Kumho 245-45/17 tires on a set of 1999 wheels. The car has been painted before and looks pretty good. A good wet sand and buff would slick it up pretty nice. It has a few door dings but no "severe" cosmetic damage. It shines nice as is honestly. It has a nice tan leather interior. The only bad spot in it is on the drivers side bolster. Its showing its 151,000 miles! The rest is well above average. The car runs and drives great. The brakes feel great , the steering is still super tight and the suspension still rides nice. I also just had the AC recharged. Blows nice and cold. The only reason i want to get rid of it is because i dont have many parts for it. Ive always had fox bodies so thats what 95% of my parts are for. So I would really like to trade for a clean ,5-speed fox body. If the right trade or right price were offered I do have access to a 1999 PI engine with 82,000 miles . Possibly a set of 4.10s also. Depends solely on the deal though. Let me know what you have to trade or $4200 OBO

I've got an 88GT that needs paint and a slight amount of body work (just cleaning up surface rust) and an 86GT T-top. The 88 has ported heads and intake, crower cam, 373 gears, maf conversion, new carpet, newer seats, 190lph fuel pump, 1.7 RR, high volume oil pump, equal length shorties, upr x-pipe, flowmaster mufflers, msd plug wires, 130 amp alternator, battery relocated to hatch, upr shifter, bbk 65mm TB, electric fan, more but can't think of it right now. The 86 has a typhoon intake, 70mm TB, ford b cam, 410 gears, freshly rebuilt T5, x-pipe, equal length shorties, electric fan, 5 lug conversion with sn95 front brakes, FR500 wheels brand new 235/45 fronts 275/40 rears, maf conversion with pro-m 75mm maf, upr shifter, recently painted but whoever painted it totally sucks and I won't lie it's a bad job but looks good 20 feet away lol. I love fox bodies but I've been itching for a 96-98 recently

Thanks for posting those up man :bigthumb 88s engine compartment looks to be well detailed. Factory black car?

06-28-2008, 09:15 AM
yes it is a factory black car but we cleaned up the bay and resprayed it. I don't think Slick88 gets online but like once a month LOL so i hope you don't mind me answering your questions. all the work done to the car was by me and him in my garage so i know what has all gone in it so far. I do think it has some rust on the driver strut tower though, not 100% sure but i remember something going on near there but can't remember if it was the strut tower or under where the batterybox used to be. I'll get with him and check it out if you're interested.

06-28-2008, 05:50 PM
yeah looks a lot better without the battery in there and we ran all the wiring under the fenders to clean it up a bit. Nothing but rain here lately but I'm working on getting the thing cleaned up and some more recent pics. I haven't driven it more than a few weeks in the past 3 years but I took it out today and runs great.

I'd do the 88 and $1200 cash. Just needs the body work from the pics I showed you and painted, it's in black primer. ported heads, ported intake, crower 15511 cam, 1.7 RR, msd plug wires, high volume oil pump, maf conversion (A9P computer), equal length shorties, upr x-pipe, flowmaster 3 chambers, T5 built about 5K ago, upr shifter, 140mph speedo cluster, new carpet (just main part of car not in hatch), front seats from a 94 (i think), rebuilt trac loc with fms 3.73 gears, fms lowering springs (like 1" i think), 130amp alternator, elec fan, batt relocated to hatch, viper alarm, door lock shaved on driver side but passenger side needs done as I replaced the door with one that was rust free. Has a stock clutch but I think it only has about 30K on it, never got around to buying a really nice one. No radio in it right now but I have one I can put in it if you really want. Oh and it has smog pump delete and a/c delete, power steering pump(new) was moved to the proper position using a factory bracket for non a/c cars.

His big concern is RUST. Post pic's of the front frame rails. That will be the deal breaker for it all.

I think I will pass. You have a great array of parts but I am looking more for a solid chassis to start with. I have alot of nice drivetrain parts to work with already so I want to start with a rust free and straight body for this project. Thanks anyway though.

It got to 239 Ryan. That was pushing it pretty close to empty. I honestly think it would get better mileage with a 3.55 or 3.73 gear, and me driving less aggresive! I planned on going 4.10 or 4.30 but i will leave that for the next guy!

It gets between 250 and 275 if you do mixed highway and city driving with the stock gears. Sorry I am the previous owner
