Headers

Should be a simple question, 1989 5.0 5sp , I already have off road pipe and flowmasters, Cold air intake and underdrive pullys,I want to go with some headers, Question: Long or short tube headers, is there a power difference and if so how much, and one more question, how much power do you think I can expect out of headers. Thanks

I think the rule of thumb is with long tubes you gain more down low and lose up top, and with shorties you lose down low and gain up top. I would recommend long tubes. As far as power goes it depends on what other mods you have, and at that it would be difficult to guess.

Also keep in mind that your mid pipe will need to match your headers, so if you have a midpipe for your stock headers you will need to buy a new one if you go with long tubes.
