Anyone know where you get the most for catalytic converters and how much I might expect for the converters off my 96 Cobra?

lol are you talking for like scrap price? if thats the case be careful, i know several people in the columbus/springfield area that have had theirs stolen off their suvs and im guessing that salvage yards are probably going to start asking questions about how you obtained them... kinda like they do with carbide and other more rare metals.... just my two cents... but if i had to guess id imagine they would get you 50-100 bucks a piece

Some places wont give you 10 for them. Some people depending on what kind of converter you can get 100. Just depends on who you know and how much they are trying to make off it.

I called one place, they said $3-10 each but they "really weren't in the market" so I figured I'd ask and see if anyone had an idea.

i heard a lot but never seen it done . hell i got 8 i got two stock h pipes off a 92 and 93 gt

I took two to Round Bottom and I think they gave me $40 for each of them. It depends on what car they came off of is how much they give you. Mine were off a 94 GT

I've got a BUNCH of steel + a cat to take somewhere, likely Round Bottom. Tool Steel like transmission gears and bearings, close to 200 lbs now.

Yep, call around. I finally got in touch with a place called Bluegrass Recycling over here in Ky. They gave me 180 total for the cats off of my mustang.

It also matter if they are factory or aftermarket. They give a lot less for aftermarket converters.

i got $60 for a 5.0 factory h pipe from round bottom recycling

Chad from Round Bottom just confirmed $60 each for the two regular cats, and $20 each for the two pre cats for $160. I called all over the place, no one else was doing anything on them....

lmfao... yeah, and Blue Grass Recycling offered me $150. Well worth the savings in time and gas. I got about a ton of aluminum to go too.
