Who locally can polish my 10 holes to a mirror finish?? Someone on corral had theirs done and I loved it. His was done out west.

I did mine myself, It's time consuming ( about 4 hours per wheel) But not real hard.

Try J&S, they are down off of KY17, 3L or Madison Pk which ever you prefer to call it. They are right near Pioneer Park.

I have had stuff polished at St. Bernard Polishing and Dan's Custom Polishing in Covington. Both were great.

I have been tossing the idea around of doing that to the ten-holes on my '85 coupe, but wouldnt it be a pain in the ass to keep on top of them to keep them shiney?

I'd think a coat or two of clearcoat would make things a lot easier

I polished my aluminum slots on my MustangII, but now they need re-polished after this past winter, I am definitely clearcoating them next time

I would have them powder coated clear not just clear coat paint. BTW I have the stuff to powder now it just a matter of getting a new outlet put in the garage for the oven and getting some practice.

That's what we do, I just have a friend that loves to put everything on the web. He made us a free website over it after I did some motor parts for his Mark VII lol. As for being easy, it's not easy. I put tons of prep work into my polishing. As for keeping them clean, I seal everything that I shine. I dont reccomend clear coat, or powder, if you look at aftermarket wheels, that's where the corrosion comes through, between the clear or powder and metal, and makes them look like crap. It also makes the aluminum pitt like a mofo when that happens. If you seal them after a fresh polish, then the finish will clean right up by hand if they get dirty. Also the pitting wont set in as hard either....Just my .02 though...:bigthumb

I've used it before, deffinitely a great product. I actually use a cleaner and sealer from a company I found in Cleveland at the International Motorcycle Show. I pay $40.00 for a bottle of cleaner, and a bottle of sealer. I've used a ton of different stuff, and so far this is the best. It's called Super Gloss. The cleaner bottle is white and green, and the sealer is white and red. As for a good cleaner that's available at a local level, I actually love the Meguires Hot Rimz polish. It's non abrasive, and cleans very nicely, especially for the price. Just my .02 though...

Will do lol, the old one is still drying out. It just goes to show, drinking and swimming doesent go hand in hand lol. Oh, and neither does doing about 20 doughnuts in your buddies Cobra in the reception parking lot lol. I used aircraft stripper, you can get it at Wal-Mart for about $12. Just paint it on and wait about 30-45 minutes and spray it off..
It will bubble up while it's working. It's super easy !!!

As for stripping them, I just sand blast them and start from scratch. I use 3 different grits of sand paper, then scotchbrite pads. Then after all that, I begin to buff them with several clays, and taaadaaa! Total bling!!!

Boy she's a pretty little thing huh. I never thought the polishing could make such a difference on the 10 holes. The center caps were actually stainless, so they look a little different than the wheels, but all together it looks very nice. I just got a set of 98 GT wheels that are grey paint, and if you look at them they are actually the 96-97 Cobra wheel painted. I think I'm gonna hit them, and black out the holes for my notch. I love cheap bling!!! Oh, and glad your happy with them, happy to hook a board brother up anyday! Oh, I was thinking about your gear question, and I think 3:90's all the way! Especially with the tire size on the rear. Just my .02 though...
